Why You're in Experienced Hands
Divorce often requires expertise from several different professionals. At A Better Way Divorce Solutions, those disciplines come together under one roof, giving you coordinated guidance throughout your divorce journey. Below, is a breif description of the certified professionals you will have working with you every step of the way!
Divorce Mediation
A Divorce Mediator can be a steady, calming presence during an overwhelming time. In a pro se divorce, when you’re handling the process on your own without attorneys, a divorce mediator helps create structure and safety in conversations that can otherwise feel emotionally charged or unmanageable. A mediator is a neutral professional who helps you and your spouse communicate more clearly, stay focused on what truly needs to be decided, and work through issues like property division, support, and parenting in a respectful, organized way. While a mediator does not take sides or give legal advice, they help reduce conflict, slow the process down when emotions run high, and guide discussions toward practical, workable agreements. For someone in distress, mediation can provide relief by lowering tension, reducing uncertainty, and helping you move through the divorce process with dignity, clarity, and far less emotional and financial strain. A mediator can assist in creating a legal mediated Settlement Agreement between you and your spouse. This will be the foundation for completing your divorce paperwork you will need to file for a dissolution or legal separation.
Divorce Support Coaching
A Divorce Support Coach is specifically trained to help individuals navigate the emotional, practical, and decision-making challenges of divorce so they can move through the process with clarity and confidence. Unlike attorneys or financial professionals, a divorce support coach focuses on helping clients manage stress, prepare for difficult conversations, stay organized, and make thoughtful choices rather than reactive ones. They provide guidance on communication, co-parenting transitions, boundary-setting, and day-to-day logistics, while helping clients understand what to expect at each stage of the divorce. By offering steady support and perspective, a divorce support coach helps reduce conflict, prevent burnout, and empower clients to move forward feeling grounded and in control.
A divorce support coach helps you transition from survival mode into rebuilding your life with clarity, confidence, and purpose after the divorce. They assist with processing lingering emotions, establishing healthy boundaries with an ex-spouse, and navigating co-parenting or communication challenges as new routines take shape. A divorce support coach also helps you redefine goals, rebuild self-trust, and make thoughtful decisions as you adjust to financial, social, and lifestyle changes. By providing structure, accountability, and emotional support during a vulnerable transition, a divorce support coach helps you move forward intentionally rather than feeling stuck in the aftermath of divorce.
CDLP
A Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP) plays a critical support role in divorce by helping individuals understand their realistic mortgage and housing options before decisions are finalized. During divorce, many people assume they can keep or refinance the family home without knowing whether they will actually qualify on their own income — a mistake that can lead to failed settlements and major financial stress. A CDLP works with divorcing clients to analyze income, support payments, credit, and debt so they know what is truly possible from a lending standpoint. By providing clear, upfront guidance, a CDLP helps prevent housing surprises, supports informed settlement decisions, and offers peace of mind during a time when stability and certainty matter most. Our CDLP has over 25 years of experience providing home loans, refinancing and heloc’s to people in the Pacific NW.
Residential Real Estate Divorce Professional
A Real Estate Divorce Professional helps individuals navigate the housing decisions and transactions that arise during and after divorce with clarity and care. Divorce often involves emotionally charged choices about whether to sell the marital home, buy out a spouse, or secure new housing, and a divorce-trained real estate professional understands both the financial and emotional stakes involved. They work collaboratively with the divorce team to provide realistic market guidance, pricing strategies, and timing considerations, while remaining sensitive to the stress and uncertainty clients may be experiencing. By offering steady support and specialized knowledge, a Divorce Real Estate Professional helps reduce conflict, prevent costly missteps, and guide clients toward housing decisions that support long-term stability and peace of mind. Born and raised in Portland, Or our realtor goes above and beyond for all of our clients, whether you are buying, selling or relocating.

Certified Divorce Financial Analyst
A CDFA® is certified specifically to gather the appropriate information on your marriage and financial situation during your divorce. They calculate the marital assets for each spouse, determine the current and future values of any retirement benefits and/or pension amounts brought into or earned during the marriage. The CDFA then determines what amount, if any of the retirement benefits and/or pension each spouse should receive, based on years married and contributions to the household over the years, and needs associated with monthly income requirements or disparity in earning potential, etc. They assist with calculating child support, alimony / spousal support and facilitate house buyout options making sure all options are tax efficient and will provide proper liquidity to all parties once the divorce is final. This information is put into report form, and can be used as a negotiating tool during mediated negotiation sessions or can be used by an attorney as evidence in a divorce trial. A CDFA® can also appear in a divorce trial as an expert witness but only if they have created the Financial Analysis for at least one of the parties in the case.
